We bring these together...

...to create this.

That is, we connect the disconnected worlds of

trees

and biodiversity

and creativity

(like painting

and music

and photography)
and technology

(like environmental
sensors, AI and blockchain)
and, most importantly,

the child that's hidden in us all.
We bring all those together around Highly Sensitive Trees
to create
Overlaps
Overlap
noun | /ˈəʊvəˌlap/
-
A shared space where nature, creativity, technology, and humans meet.
-
A living intersection in which different disciplines, species, or ways of knowing interact and influence one another.
-
A designed encounter — physical or digital — that reveals new meaning, insight, or experience through connection.

What are Highly Sensitive Trees
We take iconic, well-loved trees that already mean something to communities - and endow them with special powers.
-
We equip them with an array of environmental sensors.
-
We install biodiversity monitoring equipment.
-
We create AI personas for the trees so we can talk to them and so they can respond.
And then, we make these (now) Highly Sensitive Trees the focal points for all kinds of Overlaps. They become hosts for a vast new world of ever-expanding creative content, events, music, research, technology, storytelling, discovery and connection.
You'll see what we mean -
A Highly Sensitive Tree is something much, much more than just branches and leaves.

Our Team
_edited_edited_p.png)
We're a small, but highly passionate team whose minds (and values) are Venn-diagram-shaped (Venn diagrams - the overlapping circles that serve as inspiration for our logo).
We love living in the Overlaps - we love the stretching, the growing, the discovery, the fulfilment - and love to share this space with others.
